Another shocker from Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation: On Wednesday, the company withdrew its takeover bid of the U.K.’s pay-TV company BSkyB.
The decision, says
The Guardian, “leaves News Corp.'s key strategy for U.K. corporate growth in tatters.” The £8bn deal has been in the works for more than a year.
Murdoch’s growth strategy may be in tatters in the U.K., but his media holdings—even with the closure of
News of the World—remain widespread and influential.
