How much press are the U.K.’s top PR firms generating for themselves?

By Jody Koehler | Posted: June 22, 2011
Are PR firms in the U.K. successful at generating press for themselves?

The top firms sure are.

Research by Press index shows that, in the broadest terms, the top PR consultancies in the U.K.—specifically the first 25 of those featured in PR Week’s Top 150 PR Consultancies—secure more media coverage than other agencies.

Press index looked at the two weeks before and two weeks after the publication of the top 150 to see if there was a “PR Week effect.”

We found that, in the broadest terms, the top consultancies secure the most media coverage. Combined mentions of the top ten exceeded that of the next 15, and, within the top ten, the first five—led by the Bell Pottinger Group—generated [more than] two and a half times times as many mentions as Nos. 5 through 10.
